II. Bài Mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 1: Famous Person In Your Country
Phần 1 sẽ xoay quanh các câu hỏi cá nhân, giúp bạn làm quen và khởi động cho phần thi.
Q1: Who is your favorite celebrity in your country?
A: Oh, tough question. I don’t really follow celebrities closely or with much enthusiasm, so most of them still feel like strangers to me. But lately, I’ve been paying more attention to and supporting a young, Gen Z, R&B singer – My Anh. I admire her because she’s incredibly multi-talented: she sings, dances, produces, and writes great music all on her own.
Q2: What types of people become famous in your country?
A: I think it’s the usual formula that determines someone’s fame: financial status, influence or power, talent, and how often they showcase those traits online. Political figures, CEOs, showbiz stars in the movie and music industries, and successful athletes are all typical examples of people who rise to fame.
Q3: Would you like to be a famous person?
A: No, never. Being in the public eye is a double-edged sword. I just don’t think it’s worth it when you have to sacrifice your privacy and individuality – especially when you’re forced to live up to fans’ expectations, which may contradict your own values. In some cases, it even puts your safety at risk if you’re constantly being stalked or followed, all in exchange for a highly desired perk like a high income.
III. Bài Mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 2: Describe A Famous Person That You Are Interested In
Phần 2 yêu cầu bạn mô tả một người nổi tiếng cụ thể theo các gợi ý.
Describe a famous person that you are interested in. You should say:
- Who this person is.
- How you know about this person.
- What this person is famous for.
- And explain why you are interested in this person.
A: The famous person I’d like to talk about is Đặng Hoàng Giang. I’ve been a big fan of him for a few years now. He’s a prominent Vietnamese author and social activist, known for his insightful non-fiction works that explore contemporary social issues in Vietnam.
I first got to know about him through his books. At home, I actually have a full collection of his six books, each of which delves into different aspects of life and humanity – from social behaviors, morality, and responsibility to human dignity, mental health, life and death, and even the beauty of nature in everyday life. Pretty diverse, right? It’s like he doesn’t confine himself to a single topic, but instead writes about anything that sparks his curiosity. I find that really inspiring.
Among his works, I have my favorite. It’s the book that shares the real-life stories of young Vietnamese adults trying to navigate life after childhood. The stories are heart-breaking, but also deeply comforting in the way they make you feel seen, like you’re not alone in your struggles to grow up and find yourself.
What’s even more admirable is that Dr. Giang is also known for founding the “Tomorrow Hotline”, a support service for people dealing with depression. You call their number and receive a 15-minute counseling session, which is not a lot but might be a lifeline for someone going through a tough time. I think that’s such a meaningful contribution to the community.
I truly respect him, not just for his writing, but for being a warm-hearted and compassionate human being.
IV. Bài Mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 3: Discussion – Famous People & Society
Phần 3 là phần thảo luận sâu hơn về các vấn đề liên quan đến người nổi tiếng và xã hội.
Q1: What are the hardships of a celebrity?
A: There are quite a few, but I’d say the most serious and common one is the invasion of privacy. As a celebrity, every move you make is likely to end up on the Internet, spread by the media, and scrutinized by the public. The curiosity can turn into obsession, with people mocking you or digging into your personal life for years on end. You could even be cancelled, publicly called out, or insulted with the harshest words imaginable, which can lead to severe mental health issues. It’s tough out there.
Q2: Is it easier or more difficult to achieve fame today than in your grandparents’ time?
A: It’s definitely easier, mainly due to the rise of the Internet and social media. In the past, people had to appear on traditional channels like television, radio, or print media, which were more limited and competitive. I also think fame was gained only after years of hard work and dedication in showbiz. However, today, people can become famous overnight by going viral on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram. You don’t even need to have remarkable talents for people to admire or support you. Sometimes, silly but consistent videos like animal clips or parody skits can attract a huge number of followers.
