Question 1: What kind of shoes do you usually wear?
Sample: I usually wear sneakers because they are comfortable, practical and incredibly versatile. I spend quite a lot of time walking around during the day, so I tend to prioritise comfort over appearance. I also like the fact that sneakers can be paired with almost anything, from casual clothes to slightly more formal outfits.
Question 2: Do you like buying shoes?
Sample: Yes, I do, although I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with buying them. I usually purchase a new pair when my old ones become worn out or when I find something that genuinely suits my style. I tend to pay quite a lot of attention to quality because I would rather invest in one durable pair than buy several inexpensive ones that don’t last very long.
Question 3: Do you prefer comfortable shoes or fashionable shoes?
Sample: I would definitely choose comfortable shoes. Of course, I want my shoes to look good, but comfort is much more important to me, especially if I have to wear them for several hours. I think there is very little point in wearing something fashionable if it makes you uncomfortable throughout the day.
Question 4: Do you think shoes are important?
Sample: Yes, definitely. Apart from protecting our feet, shoes can also affect our comfort, appearance and even the way we feel about ourselves. I think the right pair of shoes can complement an outfit and make someone feel more confident, particularly on important occasions.
Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 2
Đề bài: Describe a pair of shoes you like.
You should say:
-
What they look like
-
When you bought them
-
How often you wear them
-
And explain why you like them.
Sample Answer:
One pair of shoes that I am particularly fond of is a pair of white sneakers that I bought about two years ago. They are relatively simple in design, with a clean and minimalistic appearance, which is probably one of the reasons I still like them so much.
I remember buying them when I was looking for something versatile that I could wear on different occasions. I didn’t want a pair that was specifically designed for sports because I wanted something that could also work with my everyday clothes. After trying on several different pairs, I eventually chose these sneakers because they were extremely comfortable and fitted me perfectly.
I wear them quite frequently, especially when I’m going out with friends, travelling or simply running errands. What I particularly appreciate is how easy they are to combine with different outfits. I can wear them with jeans and a T-shirt for a casual look, but they also go well with slightly smarter clothes.
Another reason I like them is that they have turned out to be incredibly durable and long-lasting. Despite wearing them regularly, they are still in reasonably good condition. They are also lightweight, so I can walk for hours without feeling uncomfortable.
Looking back, I think buying these shoes was a good decision because they combine comfort, practicality and style. They may not be the most expensive or fashionable shoes I own, but they are probably the pair I use the most. For me, that makes them much more valuable than a pair that simply looks impressive but is uncomfortable to wear.
💡 Điểm sáng chiến thuật từ cô Hà Anh:
Thay vì miêu tả quá chi tiết về màu sắc hay chất liệu (những từ dễ gây lúng túng nếu quên), bài nói tập trung vào tính ứng dụng (versatile, go well with different outfits) và cảm giác khi mang (comfortable, lightweight, durable). Cách triển khai này giúp bài nói logic, mạch lạc và rất dễ ăn điểm ở tiêu chí Fluency & Coherence.
Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 3 – Fashion & Consumer Behaviour
Question 1: Why do people care so much about the shoes they wear?
Sample: I think there are several reasons for this. First of all, shoes are an important part of someone’s appearance, so people often choose them carefully to complement their clothes and express their personal style. In some situations, footwear can even influence the impression someone makes on other people. Another factor is comfort. Since people wear shoes for many hours every day, the quality and design of footwear can have a significant impact on their daily lives.
Question 2: Do you think people are too concerned about fashion when buying shoes?
Sample: Some people probably are. Fashion trends change very quickly, and social media has made it much easier for people to see what celebrities and influencers are wearing. This can create pressure to constantly update one’s wardrobe. However, I don’t think keeping up with fashion trends is necessarily a bad thing. Fashion can be a form of self-expression. The problem arises when people prioritise trends over practicality and end up buying things they don’t actually need.
Question 3: Why are some people willing to pay a lot of money for shoes?
Sample: I think the reasons vary. Some people are willing to pay more because they believe expensive shoes offer better quality and durability. In that case, the purchase can be seen as a long-term investment. For others, however, expensive footwear is more about status and brand recognition. Certain brands have become associated with prestige, so owning their products can make people feel more confident or socially successful.
Question 4: Do advertisements influence people’s choices when buying shoes?
Sample: Yes, I think they can have a considerable influence. Advertisements often associate products with desirable lifestyles rather than simply explaining their practical features. For example, a particular pair of sneakers might be presented as a symbol of confidence or success. Social media has made this even more powerful because consumers are constantly exposed to products through influencers.
Question 5: Do you think people will buy more sustainable shoes in the future?
Sample: I think there is a good chance of that happening. Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of environmental issues, including the waste generated by the fashion industry. This may encourage people to choose products made from recycled or environmentally friendly materials. However, price remains an important consideration. Companies will need to make sustainable footwear more affordable before it becomes a mainstream choice.
