Từ vựng & Cấu trúc ghi điểm (Vocabulary & Structures)

Thay vì lặp lại những từ cơ bản như big, fun hay crowded, hãy nâng cấp độ phong phú từ vựng (Lexical Resource) của bạn bằng các cụm từ sau:

Miêu tả không khí & Quy mô (Atmosphere & Scale)

Miêu tả cảm xúc & Trải nghiệm (Emotions & Experiences)

Cấu trúc câu ăn điểm (Advanced Grammar & Idioms)

• Words simply fail to describe how [adj] it was… (Từ ngữ đơn thuần không thể mô tả hết mức độ… của sự kiện đó.)

  • Ví dụ: Words simply fail to describe how exhilarating it was to see my favorite band performing live.

• What made the event truly unforgettable was… (Điều khiến sự kiện này thực sự không thể nào quên chính là…)

  • Ví dụ: What made the event truly unforgettable was not just the grand stage, but the warm hospitality.

• Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that… (Dù có nằm mơ tôi cũng không tưởng tượng được rằng… – Cấu trúc đảo ngữ ghi điểm ngữ pháp cao).

  • Ví dụ: Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would have the chance to attend such a magnificent festival.

Dàn ý chi tiết trả lời Part 2: “Describe An Event”

Một bài nói 2 phút cần được chia bố cục rõ ràng để không bị thiếu ý hoặc ngập ngừng.

1. Mở đầu (Introduction) ~ 15-20 giây Giới thiệu trực tiếp sự kiện (Âm nhạc, lễ cưới, triển lãm…), thời gian và địa điểm.

• Mẫu câu: “Off the top of my head, the first event that pops into my mind is… It took place about 2 years ago when…”

2. Bối cảnh & Quy mô (Setting & Atmosphere) ~ 30-40 giây Tạo độ “chân thực” bằng cách miêu tả không gian, âm thanh, ánh sáng và đám đông.

• Mẫu câu: “The venue was packed to capacity… I was completely amazed by the electric atmosphere…”

3. Diễn biến chính & Điểm nhấn (Highlights / Main Activities) ~ 40-50 giây Trình bày hoạt động chính và khoảnh khắc “bùng nổ” (Climax) nhất của sự kiện.

• Mẫu câu: “What made the event truly unforgettable was the climax when… I completely got swept away by…”

4. Cảm xúc & Ý nghĩa (Personal Feelings & Significance) ~ 20-30 giây Khép lại bài nói bằng giá trị đọng lại và sự thay đổi trong suy nghĩ của bạn.

• Mẫu câu: “All in all, that event left an indelible impression on my mind… It allowed me to live in the moment…”

Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 2 hoàn chỉnh (Band 7.5+)

Đề bài (Cue Card):Describe an event you attended that was memorable. You should say:

• What the event was

• When and where it took place

• What happened at the event

• And explain why this event was memorable to you.

Sample Answer: Off the top of my head, the first event that pops into my mind is a live music concert by my favorite local indie band, which took place about two years ago in downtown Saigon.

The venue was an open-air stadium, and the moment I arrived, it was already packed to capacity with thousands of eager music lovers. I was completely blown away by the electric atmosphere—everywhere I looked, people were holding up lightsticks, waving banners, and chatting excitedly. It was clear that the whole show had been meticulously organized, from the state-of-the-art stage lighting to the crisp sound system.

The highlights of the night began when the main band finally stepped onto the stage. As the first basslines hit, the entire crowd burst into cheers. I completely got swept away by the excitement, singing along at the top of my lungs to every single track. The climax of the event was an acoustic performance under a shower of golden confetti—it created a scene so breathtaking that words simply fail to describe how exhilarating it was.

All in all, this event was deeply memorable to me because it allowed me to completely live in the moment and escape the stress of my daily routine. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that a live show could evoke such a strong sense of joy and connection. It left an indelible impression on my mind, and even now, whenever I replay those songs, all those unforgettable memories come rushing back.

1. What kinds of events do people in your country usually celebrate?

Sample: In Vietnam, people celebrate a wide variety of events, which can be broadly divided into traditional festivals and personal milestones. On a national scale, traditional holidays like Tet (Lunar New Year) or the Mid-Autumn Festival play a pivotal role in preserving cultural values and bringing families together. On an individual level, occasions such as weddings, birth celebrations, and graduation ceremonies are widely commemorated, as they mark significant turning points in a person’s life.

• Vocabulary: Traditional festivals (Lễ hội truyền thống); Personal milestones (Các cột mốc cá nhân); Play a pivotal role (Đóng vai trò nòng cốt); Significant turning points (Những bước ngoặt quan trọng).

2. Do you think large international events (like the Olympics or World Expo) are beneficial for the host country?

Sample: Undoubtedly, yes. Hosting a major international event serves as a powerful catalyst for economic growth and global promotion. Firstly, the host country often receives massive investments to upgrade infrastructure, such as transportation systems and sports venues. Secondly, it attracts thousands of international tourists, which gives a major boost to the hospitality sector. However, it’s worth noting that if not managed wisely, these events can lead to financial burdens or leave behind unused facilities.

• Vocabulary: Catalyst for economic growth (Chất xúc tác cho phát triển kinh tế); A boost to the hospitality sector (Động lực cho ngành dịch vụ/khách sạn); Financial burdens (Gánh nặng tài chính).

3. How have social events changed compared to the past?

Sample: Social events have undergone a dramatic transformation, largely driven by advancements in technology. In the past, gatherings were much more intimate and focused on face-to-face interactions. Nowadays, events heavily incorporate modern technology, from lavish LED stage setups to live streaming on social media. While this makes events more visually spectacular and accessible to a wider audience, some people feel it slightly diminishes the genuine emotional connection between attendees.
