Các cấu trúc “ăn điểm” nên dùng

Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 1 topic Ice Cream

Trong Part 1, hãy kết hợp các cụm từ chỉ thói quen (have a sweet tooth) và cảm giác (refreshing taste) để câu trả lời tự nhiên nhất.

Q1: Do you like ice cream?

“Yes, I absolutely love it. I have a bit of a sweet tooth, so ice cream is one of my go-to desserts, especially during hot weather. There’s something really satisfying about its smooth texture and refreshing taste.”

Q2: How often do you eat ice cream?

“I don’t eat it on a daily basis, but I do indulge in it once or twice a week, particularly when I feel like treating myself or hanging out with friends.”

Q3: What is your favorite flavor?

“I’d say chocolate is my all-time favorite because it’s rich and slightly bitter, which balances the sweetness perfectly. Sometimes I also go for fruity flavors when I want something lighter.”

Sample Answer:

I’d like to talk about a memorable time when I had ice cream, which happened last summer during an extremely hot day. The heat was almost unbearable, so I decided to go out and grab something cold to cool down.

I went to a small artisanal ice cream shop near my house. The place wasn’t particularly fancy, but it had a wide variety of unique flavors that you wouldn’t normally find in supermarkets. I remember choosing a scoop of matcha and another of dark chocolate, which turned out to be an unexpectedly perfect combination.

I was there with a close friend of mine, and we hadn’t seen each other for quite a while due to our busy schedules. So instead of just eating quickly and leaving, we sat down and spent hours talking about everything – from work stress to random life updates. The ice cream almost became secondary to the conversation, but at the same time, it made the whole experience more enjoyable and relaxing.

What made that moment truly memorable wasn’t just the taste of the ice cream, although it was incredibly rich and creamy. It was more about the atmosphere and the emotional connection. It felt like a small escape from the pressure of daily life. Looking back, I realize that simple moments like that can be surprisingly meaningful. There’s really nothing better than good ice cream and good company on a hot day.

Finally, it’s also a perfect way to cool down in hot weather, especially in tropical countries.”

Q2: Do you think ice cream is healthy?

“Honestly, I wouldn’t consider it a healthy food if consumed in large amounts. It usually contains a high level of sugar and fat, which can lead to health problems if people overindulge. However, I think it’s perfectly fine to eat it in moderation. Some alternatives like low-sugar or dairy-free ice cream can also be a healthier option. So overall, it depends on how often and how much people consume it.”

Q3: How has ice cream changed over the years?

“Ice cream has evolved quite a lot in terms of both production and variety. In the past, people mainly had access to basic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Nowadays, there are countless options, including exotic and experimental flavors like salted caramel or even savory ones. In addition, the rise of artisanal brands has made ice cream more premium and creative. Technology has also improved preservation and distribution, making it more accessible worldwide.”

Q4: Why do some people prefer expensive ice cream?

“I think people who choose expensive ice cream are often looking for higher quality and a more unique experience. Premium ice cream usually uses better ingredients, such as real fruit or high-quality chocolate, which results in a richer and smoother texture. Moreover, artisanal ice cream shops often offer creative flavors that you can’t find in mass-produced products. For some people, it’s not just about satisfying a craving – it’s also about enjoying something special and occasionally treating themselves.”
