Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 1: Eating Habits

Q1: What are your eating habits like?

To be honest, I try my best to maintain a balanced diet. My daily meals usually consist of plenty of fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. I also make a conscious effort to cut down on sugar and processed snacks, especially during late-night study sessions.

Q2: Do you prefer eating at home or eating out?

I definitely lean towards home-cooked meals. Preparing my own food allows me to control the quality of ingredients and avoid excessive sodium or saturated fats. However, on weekends, I occasionally eat out with friends to unwind and try different cuisines.

Q3: Have your eating habits changed since you were a child?

Significantly, yes. As a kid, I had a massive sweet tooth and would constantly consume junk food without a second thought. But as I grew older and became more health-conscious, I started prioritizing high nutritional value over sugary treats.

Q4: Do you think your eating habits are healthy?

I’d say they are relatively healthy, though there’s still room for improvement. I drink plenty of water and eat fruits daily, but because of my hectic work schedule, I sometimes skip breakfast or eat in a hurry, which isn’t ideal for digestion.

Q5: Is it easy to keep a healthy diet in your country?

It’s a mix of both. On one hand, Vietnam offers an abundance of fresh herbs, vegetables, and affordable tropical fruits. On the other hand, the rise of fast-food chains and street food stalls high in oil and carbohydrates makes it tempting to stray from a healthy routine.

Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 2

Topic: Describe a healthy eating habit you have.

You should say:

  • What the habit is
  • When and how you started it
  • How easy or difficult it is to keep
  • And explain why you think it is healthy for you.

Sample Answer:

If I were to talk about a healthy eating habit that has made a positive impact on my life, it would definitely be adopting a plant-based diet for my lunches. This means my afternoon meals consist entirely of vegetables, legumes, tofu, and whole grains, without any red or processed meat.

I started this habit about two years ago after suffering from frequent sluggishness and digestive issues in the afternoons. I realized that my traditional heavy lunches packed with red meat were draining my energy. Inspired by a documentary on nutrition, I decided to take the plunge and transition to lighter, plant-heavy meals.

At first, keeping this routine was quite challenging. Being part of a food culture where meat is central to most dishes meant I had limited options when dining out with colleagues. Moreover, I had to learn how to prepare meal boxes in advance and curb my cravings for fast food.

However, sticking to this habit has proven immensely rewarding. Vegetables and plant proteins are rich in fiber and essential vitamins while being low in saturated fats. Since making this shift, my digestion has improved remarkably, and I no longer experience that mid-day brain fog. It’s a simple yet effective habit that keeps me energized throughout the workday while promoting long-term cardiovascular health.

Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 3

Q1: How have modern eating habits changed compared to the past?

Modern dietary habits have shifted dramatically toward convenience. In the past, meals were predominantly home-cooked using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Nowadays, due to demanding work schedules, people rely heavily on processed food, frozen meals, and food delivery services. Unfortunately, while this saves time, it often comes at the expense of lower nutritional value and higher caloric intake.

Q2: What are the main causes of health problems related to diet in modern society?

I believe the primary culprits are the overconsumption of ultra-processed foods and the prevalence of a sedentary lifestyle. Fast-food items are engineered to be hyper-palatable, filled with refined sugars, excessive salt, and harmful fats. When people consume these high-calorie foods without sufficient physical activity, it inevitably leads to lifestyle-related conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.

Q3: What can governments do to encourage people to eat more healthily?

Governments can implement several policy measures. Firstly, they can introduce a ‘sugar tax’ on soft drinks and junk food to discourage consumption while subsidizing fresh produce to make organic food more affordable. Secondly, launching nationwide public awareness campaigns and enforcing clearer nutrition labeling on food packaging can empower consumers to make informed dietary choices.

Q4: Should schools be responsible for teaching children about healthy eating?

Absolutely. Schools play a pivotal role in shaping a child’s lifelong habits. By introducing practical nutrition education into the curriculum and offering nutritious school lunches, educational institutions can instill the concept of mindful eating from an early age. This helps children develop a positive relationship with healthy food long before they are exposed to aggressive fast-food advertising.

Q5: Do you think organic food will become the main choice for everyone in the future?

While the demand for organic food is undeniably growing as people become more health-conscious, I doubt it will completely replace conventional food in the near future. Organic farming requires more land and yields lower output, making it significantly more expensive. Until sustainable agricultural technologies advance enough to lower production costs, organic produce will remain a luxury rather than the norm for the general public.
