Đừng bắt đầu mọi câu bằng “I think” hay “I like”. Hãy nâng cấp ngữ pháp của bạn bằng các cấu trúc sau:

Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Clothes & Fashion

Question 1: What kind of clothes do you usually wear?

Sample: I usually go for casual, comfortable clothes, especially jeans, T-shirts and loose-fitting shirts. I’m not particularly fashion-conscious, so I don’t feel the need to follow every single trend. As long as my clothes are comfortable and fit the occasion, I’m pretty happy with them.

Question 2: Do you like buying clothes?

Sample: Yes, but I’m not someone who goes shopping every weekend. I prefer buying a few high-quality, versatile pieces that I can wear in different situations. For me, it’s more about getting good value for money than simply having a large wardrobe.

Question 3: Do you care about fashion?

Sample: To some extent, yes. I like looking presentable, particularly when I’m going to work or attending an important event. That said, I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with fashion. I tend to prioritise comfort and practicality over following the latest trends.

Question 4: Have you ever bought clothes online?

Sample: Yes, quite a few times. It’s incredibly convenient because I can browse a wide range of products without having to visit several different shops. The downside is that I can’t try things on, so the size and fit can sometimes be a bit unpredictable.

Question 5: Do you prefer comfortable clothes or fashionable clothes?

Sample: Definitely comfortable clothes, especially for everyday wear. I think there’s little point in wearing something trendy if you feel uncomfortable in it. For special occasions, though, I’d be willing to compromise a little on comfort in order to look more polished.

Describe a piece of clothing you like to wear. You should say:

• what it is

• where you got it

• and explain why you like wearing it.

Sample Answer:

I’d like to talk about a black oversized blazer that I absolutely love wearing. I bought it from a small clothing shop a couple of years ago, and since then, it has become something of a wardrobe staple for me.

It’s basically a simple black blazer with a slightly oversized cut. The material is quite lightweight, so it’s comfortable enough to wear for several hours without feeling restricted. What I particularly like about it is its minimalist design. It doesn’t have any eye-catching patterns or unnecessary details, which means I can easily mix and match it with different outfits.

I probably wear it once or twice a week, especially when I have to go to work, meet friends, or attend a relatively formal event. I can wear it over a T-shirt and jeans for a smart-casual look, or pair it with a blouse and trousers if I want to look more formal.

The main reason I like it is that it’s extremely versatile. I don’t have to spend ages deciding what to wear because this blazer seems to work with almost everything in my wardrobe. More importantly, I feel quite confident and put-together whenever I wear it.

So, although it’s just a fairly ordinary piece of clothing, it’s probably one of the most useful items I own, and I can see myself wearing it for years because of its timeless style.

Question 1: What factors affect people’s decisions when buying clothes?

Sample: I think there are several factors at play. Price and quality are probably the two most obvious ones, particularly for people who are shopping on a budget. However, personal taste, comfort and the occasion also matter. For younger consumers, social media and fashion trends can have a considerable influence, whereas older people may place more emphasis on durability and practicality.

Question 2: Do you think that the style of clothing is more important than its comfort?

Sample: I wouldn’t say that one is universally more important than the other. It largely depends on the situation. In everyday life, I think comfort should take priority, because people need to be able to move around and concentrate on what they’re doing. However, when attending a wedding, a job interview or another formal occasion, appearance becomes more important, so people may be willing to sacrifice a certain degree of comfort in order to look presentable and make a good impression.

Question 3: Why do people have different tastes in fashion?

Sample: I’d say it’s mainly because people’s personalities, lifestyles and cultural backgrounds are different. Some people enjoy standing out from the crowd, while others feel more comfortable blending in. Fashion can also be influenced by age, income and social circles. On top of that, social media has exposed people to a much wider range of styles, so they have more opportunities to experiment with their appearance.

Question 4: Do you think it’s important to follow fashion trends?

Sample: Not necessarily. I think following trends can be enjoyable, particularly for people who see fashion as a form of self-expression, but I don’t think it’s something everyone needs to do. Trends come and go incredibly quickly, and constantly buying new clothes can be expensive and wasteful. Personally, I’d rather develop a personal style that suits me than change my wardrobe every time a new trend emerges.

Question 5: How do people show their personality through clothing?

Sample: I think clothing can communicate quite a lot about a person’s personality, although it shouldn’t be used to judge someone at face value. For instance, someone who wears bright colours and unusual designs may want to express creativity, whereas someone who prefers neutral colours and simple outfits might have a more understated style. That said, clothing is only one aspect of someone’s identity, so I wouldn’t draw firm conclusions based solely on appearance.

Question 6: Are older people as fashionable as young people?

Sample: I don’t think age necessarily determines how fashionable someone is. Younger people may be more exposed to fashion trends through social media, but plenty of older people have a strong sense of personal style. In fact, some of them deliberately avoid trends and develop a distinctive style that suits their personality and lifestyle.

Question 7: Why do some people spend a lot of money on clothes?

Sample: For some people, clothing is a form of self-expression, so they’re willing to pay more for items that reflect their identity. Others may associate expensive brands with quality, status or durability. However, I don’t think price is necessarily a reliable indicator of quality, because you’re sometimes paying for the brand name rather than the actual material or craftsmanship.

Question 8: What are the differences between clothes worn by old people and those worn by young people?

Sample: The main difference is probably the degree of influence from current trends. Young people tend to experiment with colours, styles and brands, partly because they are influenced by their peers and social media. Older people, on the other hand, may prioritise comfort, practicality and familiarity. But of course, there are plenty of exceptions, so I wouldn’t make a blanket assumption based on age alone.
