The IELTS Foundation course is designed for beginners or those with a limited English background who want to familiarize themselves with the IELTS exam and build a solid foundation. This course focuses on providing essential grammar, core vocabulary, and fundamental test-taking skills for all four sections.
Simply put, this is an introductory course that helps you get acquainted with the IELTS format and build your language base from the ground up. Instead of diving straight into complex test strategies or requiring an advanced level of English, the foundation course focuses on the most essential building blocks.
You will be introduced in detail to the IELTS exam structure (covering Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing), common question types for each section, and how to adapt to the testing environment. Simultaneously, the course will help you reinforce your grammar (tenses, common sentence structures, etc.), build a foundational vocabulary based on familiar IELTS topics, and practice standard pronunciation.
The primary goal of this course is to give you a clear overview of the exam so you feel confident rather than overwhelmed when encountering different task types. Once you have built a solid foundation through our introductory program (typically aiming for an Overall band of 3.0 – 5.0+), or if you already possess a certain level of English, ECE will accompany you through subsequent stages on your journey to your dream band score. The IELTS study path at ECE is clearly structured and closely aligned with each student’s target score:
- IELTS Foundation (0 – 4.0 Overall): Building a primary foundation and familiarizing yourself with the exam format.
- IELTS Basic (4.0 – 5.0 Overall): Developing core skills and getting comfortable with common question types.
- IELTS Intermediate (5.0 – 6.0 Overall): Enhancing skills, expanding vocabulary, and practicing techniques for more complex tasks.
- IELTS Hi-Intermediate (6.0 – 6.5+ Overall): Focusing on advanced language use and breakthrough strategies to achieve a solid band score.

This is our traditional learning format, where you attend classes directly at one of ECE’s three modern facilities in Hanoi.

ECE offers a comprehensive Online IELTS program, providing a flexible learning solution that maintains the same quality and interaction as our in-person classes, with a 10% tuition discount compared to offline courses.
The Online IELTS program at ECE is designed with superior advantages, ensuring an experience and learning quality that is 100% equivalent to our offline classes.
These are “Live” classes – Not pre-recorded videos
This is ECE’s biggest differentiator. You will NOT learn through pre-recorded lectures or study alone. Instead, you will join a LIVE class with an 8.0+ IELTS instructor and other students via Zoom at a fixed time.
- Real-time interaction: You can listen to lectures, ask questions, and get immediate answers from the teacher, just like sitting in a physical classroom.
- Live feedback: Teachers will call on you to speak, correct your pronunciation, review your Writing, go over Reading exercises, and organize group discussions (breakout rooms), just like in an offline class.

- Hybrid Class (Offline & Online combined): You join the class via Zoom simultaneously with students physically present at the ECE center. You are immersed in the vibrant classroom atmosphere and receive parallel interaction from the teacher.
- 100% Online Class (Zoom only): This class is designed exclusively for online students with smaller class sizes. The teacher’s focus is 100% optimized for the Zoom platform.
