Tóm Tắt Nội Dung Bài Viết
For many candidates, IELTS Writing is considered the “toughest” part among all 4 skills, requiring students to invest a lot of time as well as prepare proper strategies and preparation methods right from the start.
Understanding the importance of establishing a study method right from the beginning, Ms. Doan Nuong – Director of ECE Foreign Language Center, shared her heartfelt insights at the Seminar: IELTS Writing Tips, which took place on the morning of December 18, 2023, at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. The event was a success, attracting the interest of students both inside and outside the academy, especially those majoring in English Language.

During the seminar, Ms. Nuong provided detailed guidance on the preparation process along with strategies for both parts of the writing test, including:
For Writing Task 1:
- Analyze the question
- Paraphrase the introduction based on the prompt
- Identify key features of the chart such as trends, changes, etc.
- Provide an overall summary of the chart
- Select data to analyze the chart
- Determine the order of describing the data
- Use the selected data to complete the body paragraphs
- (If time permits), write the conclusion
- Review the writing before finishing.
For Writing Task 2:
- Analyze the question
- Brainstorm arguments around the given topic
- Select 3-4 main arguments to analyze
- Write the introduction
- Use the above arguments to write complete paragraphs
- Conclude by summarizing the main arguments and viewpoints
- Review the writing before finishing.
In both parts, Ms. Nuong combined specific examples so that students could practice directly, as well as solutions to handle common mistakes, and how to allocate time effectively during the preparation process. At the end of the workshop, students also asked questions related to the IELTS test and had Ms. Nuong answer them.
Thank you to the teachers and students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam for organizing and taking the time to attend the Seminar: IELTS Writing Tips. Hopefully, Ms. Doan Nuong’s sharing will help you improve your IELTS band score in general and your writing score in particular in the future.
